Standing next to their brother Andrew for support, Nadine’s sister, Heidi, stood before all of us to give her Maid of Honor speech. Her voice cracked and she fanned her eyes with her perfectly typed speech in hand and tried to hold back the tears while recounting a story from when they were little girls playing dress up and Nadine dreaming to be a bride. Her joyful tears at seeing her sister’s dream come to fruition was such a touching moment and the love she has for her sister was so apparent to everyone in the room.
Throughout the entire day, it was evident how important family was to Michael and Nadine. They were married at the Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood TX where Michael’s grandfather, Boompa, attends.
As we were preparing for Michael and Nadine to share a private first look before the ceremony. I whispered to Michael that I could not wait for him to see his bride and told him how beautiful she looked to which he later responded: “I knew she would look beautiful”.
The wedding reception was held at the South Shore Harbour Resort and ya’ll, it was steeped in excitement. From the drums and dancing during the Zaffa entrance to a Candle Dance by the ladies, the dance floor was full most of the evening. Multiple generations shared the dance floor and I loved watching their guests light up with smiles as they learned some new dance moves.
As a side bonus, Michael’s sister is named Ellen – I NEVER meet others named Ellen so that was exciting for me lol 😉
